Claire Maiers, Editor, Social Sciences and Publications for Public Audiences
Claire Maiers is a researcher and industry professional who works at the intersection of technology and culture. She received her PhD in sociology from the University of Virginia where she examined the emergence of data science as an epistemological paradigm. She now works in the technology and consulting sectors. Most recently she served as a Group VP at WillowTree where she focused on the development of high-performing, interdisciplinary consulting teams and successfully built a research practice from the ground up. She has extensive experience editing and writing for different types of audiences and across a wide variety of topics. Her academic expertise is rooted in social science and musicology, and she has also collaborated widely with scholars from fields such as anthropology, ischools, media studies, science and technology studies, and the digital humanities.
