Focused Revision Sessions
Whether you're revising a journal article, developing a book proposal, restructuring a chapter, or working through reviewer feedback, these one-hour consultations provide dedicated time to tackle a specific writing challenge. We'll work collaboratively using your own manuscript to develop practical revision strategies you can continue applying long after the session ends.
Who These Sessions Are For
These sessions are ideal for scholars who are:
tackling a revise-and-resubmit for a journal article
drafting or restructuring your book proposal
talking through your book’s central argument and identifying how your chapter-level arguments support it
outlining a new chapter or reversing outlining an existing one
restructuring your book chapters or sections within chapters
crafting a more engaging introduction
responding to difficult or conflicting reader reports on your book manuscript
We’re game to talk about any thorny writing issues you may have.
How the Sessions Work
Each one-hour session includes:
Approximately 30 minutes of advance reading before we meet
A one-hour Zoom consultation focused on your manuscript
Collaborative discussion and live revision strategies tailored to your goals
Screen sharing and working on key pieces of the text together.
Please send your text with notes about your questions at least 48 hours before the session.
Pricing
$125 per one-hour session. This includes both advance reading and the live consultation.
If your institution is covering the cost of your session, you may choose the invoice option below rather than paying online.
One Session or Several?
These sessions are great for authors working with us on a chapter-by-chapter basis; we can meet as you’re (re)writing and strategize about implementing our developmental feedback. Please let us know if you’d like to include one or more sessions in a quote for a developmental book editing project.
One-off calls are also welcome from new and existing clients. If you find yourself with a sticky writing or revision problem, we can usually work through it in a session.
